Mom
A delivery can begin in various ways. Many deliveries begin with contractions, but occasionally they begin with the breaking of your water.
Your baby could be born from now on until the end of week 41. Because your belly is still getting increasingly bigger, there is usually not much space left for your navel around this time. It can bulge out, which will recover completely after the delivery.
Baby
The baby is now completely ready and will only be growing from now on! It is now about the size of a head of romaine lettuce.
It is possible that you can feel your baby move less now. This is nothing to worry about. There is simply less room, which is why the baby is lying in your uterus with its legs pulled up. You now probably feel more sliding movements, although you can still feel the occasional kick of the feet or a bump of an elbow.
If you can no longer feel your baby at the moments that you are used to feeling it, it is wise to contact your obstetrician. If you are in doubt or you clearly feel less movement compared to the previous days, you should definitely call. It is possible that you child is still moving but you can’t feel it.
