Betreft: Tijdelijke aanpassing in poliklinisch bevallen bij OLVG en BCW

Beste lezer, OLVG bereidt zich voor op veranderingen in onze geboortezorg. Onderdeel van deze voorbereidingen is een verbouwing. Wij informeren u graag over de gevolgen hiervan.
Tijdelijke maatregelen
Tijdens de verbouwing blijft het mogelijk om in OLVG op allebei de locaties medisch te bevallen. Echter, momenteel biedt OLVG ook de mogelijkheid tot poliklinisch bevallen op locatie Oost. Hier komt tijdelijk verandering in. Tot en met april 2024 kan die mogelijkheid namelijk niet meer geboden worden op locatie Oost. U kunt in die periode met een wens tot poliklinisch bevallen wél terecht bij onze partner BCW. U kunt ook terecht bij OLVG, locatie West, als er op BCW onvoldoende plaats is of wanneer u dat specifiek aan uw verloskundige verzoekt.
Kortom, tot en met april 2024 kunt u terecht voor:
- Bevallingen met een medische indicatie: OLVG, locatie Oost en OLVG, locatie West
- Poliklinische bevallingen met een plaatsindicatie (zgn. BD-indicatie): OLVG, locatie Oost en OLVG, locatie West
- Poliklinische bevallingen zonder een plaatsindicatie: in principe BCW en OLVG, locatie West op verzoek
Contact met de verloskundige
Op het moment dat u denkt te moeten bevallen, neemt u contact op met de verloskundige. Als je in het ziekenhuis of bevalcentrum wilt bevallen laat de verloskundige u weten in welk ziekenhuis of welk bevalcentrum u terecht kunt.

Tot slot
Wij realiseren ons dat het een teleurstelling kan zijn als u niet kunt bevallen in het ziekenhuis van uw keuze of de OLVG-locatie van uw keuze. Veilige zorg voor moeder en kind staat echter voorop. Alle ziekenhuizen en verloskundigen in de regio zorgen er dan ook graag samen voor dat u die zorg krijgt.

Dear reader, OLVG is preparing for changes in our birth care. Part of these preparations is a renovation. We would like to inform you about the consequences.
Temporary measures
During the renovation it will remain possible to give birth medically in OLVG at both locations. However, OLVG currently also offers the option of outpatient delivery at location East. This will change temporarily. Until April 2024, this option can no longer be offered at location East. During that period, you can still visit our partner BCW if you wish to give birth on an outpatient basis. You can also go to OLVG, location West, if there is not enough room at BCW or if you specifically ask your midwife.
In short, up to and including April 2024, you can visit us for:
- Births with a medical indication: OLVG, location East and OLVG, location West
- Outpatient deliveries with a location indication (so-called BD indication): OLVG, location East and OLVG, location West
- Outpatient deliveries without a location indication: in principle BCW and OLVG, location West on request
Contact with the midwife
The moment you think you will have to give birth, you contact the midwife. If you want to give birth in a hospital or birthcenter; the midwife will let you know to which hospital or birthcenter you can then go.

In conclusion
We realize that it can be a disappointment if you cannot give birth in the hospital of your choice or the OLVG location of your choice. However, safe care for mother and child is paramount. All hospitals and midwives in the region are therefore happy to work together to ensure that you receive that care.
